About A consultant who's
actually done the job.
Howdy folks, I'm Alex Bagheri. I started mixing and recording in
several studios in Dallas back in 2016, moved into editorial, and
spent years cutting for
YouTube channels and producing live broadcasts for the likes of
Salesforce, Edward Jones, and the Bon Appétit Supper Club. Then I
crossed over to the vendor side — six years at Apple, Avid, and
EditShare, living at the bleeding edge of asset management and remote
workflows. I've seen the whole range, from petabyte-scale LTO archives
to AI vector search, for everyone from three-letter agencies and
defense contractors to high school film and journalism departments.
Here's the gap I kept running into: IT is cloud-first and
security-minded, the creative side just wants more performance and more
output, and the two rarely speak the same language. That's the problem
I started Catalog & Co to fix — to sit in the middle, speak both
languages, and be straight about the tradeoffs. I don't take reseller
kickbacks or push a platform I'm paid to favor, so what you hear from me
is just what I'd do if it were my team.
